Hamilton King was engaged by our client to design a computer/homework room using innovative materials, texture, and colour. We designed the concept for the room as well as bespoke furniture which we manufactured.
The client brief was to create a fun space as a computer/homework room for the children of this client. Through the Concept Design phase, Hamilton King came up with a design scheme that was based around an ‘Apple Shop’ and utilized wooden Herringbone cladding in contrast to minimal and contemporary surfaces.
Hamilton King managed the Manufacture and Installation of the components for this project and worked alongside a bespoke Joinery Company to produce the finished article. To create a textured finish to the Herringbone, Hamilton King specified the material be sourced from reclaimed floor joists which was planned to varying thicknesses. Each Herringbone piece was then applied to the joinery and feature wall in a random order to create the desired textured and rustic aesthetic.
The client loves their “Apple Shop” inspired room. The room is now used by the entire family for fun, innovation, homework/projects and is the creative hub of the home.
